Eight Months of disappointing silence from Scholastic India
In February, 15 of us — established writers with proven track records — collaborated with Scholastic on an anthology project. We took this up because of the brand’s legacy in publishing and the trust it commands among readers and writers alike.
However, it’s now been eight months, and we’ve received no communication or update on the book’s release or next steps — despite repeated follow-ups.
As professionals, we fully understand that publishing can take time. But what’s disappointing here is the complete lack of transparency from such a well-known organization. Projects like these are built on creative trust, time, and mutual respect — and silence erodes all three.
We hope Scholastic will take responsibility, communicate clearly, and bring closure to this collaboration.
Our collective effort deserves that respect.
