In November 2023, I was just hearing about Chat GPT. We had a session about it at work and I experimented with it once or twice. Several months later, I used Google’s Gemini. I liked it better than Chat GPT. I now have used Microsoft CoPilot and it’s my AI poison of choice. I use it mainly to create my social media posts.

AI has been replacing humans steadily. An alarming news item on Instagram told me yesterday that in five years, AI will replace just about every job.

Today, robotics and AI course graduates from universities are being absorbed as campus hires ( Lovely University) for INR 1.03 crores packages per annum. Meanwhile, writers and creators are being devalued abominably. In 1999, the going rate for articles in supplements of national newspapers was INR 1 a word. Now, in 2025, people are talking about paise per word( WHAT!)

My friend and I were discussing that in today’s market only food franchises seem to be doing well. Nobody seems to value educated folk anymore.

Cooks earn upwards of INR 7000 per month for an hour’s work daily in suburban areas, too. Writers? Ha! Let’s not go there. I wonder if writing and editing can be considered professions any more? I have my doubts.
