I enjoyed watching ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ Part 2 yesterday on Jio Hotstar. Remarkably, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci look almost the same as they did in Part 1, which was taken in 2006.

The skeleton of this movie retains the plot from Part 1. Like in Part 1, Andy has to achieve the impossible to win over Miranda. After 20 years as a journalist, Andy is back with Runway due to Miranda’s boss.  Miranda’s constant put-downs were terrible. The decline of Runway ( the magazine) in 2026 due to the arrival of digital magazines is very real. The budget cuts, retrenchments, and last-minute coups set in both NYC and Italy were realistic.

Lady Gaga also makes an appearance. This part 2 seems like a more glammed-up version of part 1.

  1. Thanks for the review. I will try to catch the movie. I have seen Part 1, and yes, the decline of print magazines has saddened me. I used to be a magazine buff. 🙂
