There they were again. The stalkers. The obscene messages on social media. The cat calls on the street. Calling on the phone with sick things to say. Where would it stop? Her view of the world had been tainted already with all the smut she had read in high school. Now, reality was just as bad. When would they stop bugging her? When would God hear her silent scream? Life was meant to be beautiful. But in the name of obsession, some pervert kept harassing her. This had been going on almost from the age of 14. Who could live like this?

To top it, people made up stories about her. Look! Look! She is sleeping with some new guy. Did you hear what happened to her? The lady who lived next door told the rest of the neighbourhood that she had been raped and a girl her age came up to her and repeated this to her. She lived through all of this, all the while trying to hold on to a job and take care of responsibilties. The real monsters were people. She had learnt that a very young age. The knowledge she lived with infused her with special powers. She could talk to spirits. She genuinely could. Not her fault if no one believed her!
