Aishwariya's LittLog

On Books, Writing, Editing, and More

Today, I learned about a new book called Being Happy, which is about positive psychology. The instructor keeps an eye out for the latest releases and news items since she is a perfectionist. Perfectionists are more likely to have depression.

The bit of the LiveStream that I watched also took me back to Class Four, when my paternal grandmother would ask me, “Why not first rank?” if I told her I came second in class. I also recalled that our then-principal noticed I was sad in class and told my mom about it. Rhonda Douglas ( from the Resilient Writers’ Workshop) told us to read up on Booker shortlists and other bestselling lists since these books have ” been through processes.” She touched upon Zadie Smith’s The Great Gap and told us that the brain hates uncertainty.
