Takeaways from a writing workshop today

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know that I’m enrolled in an online writing workshop. Today, our instructor spoke about the need for self-compassion. She mentioned that Kristen Neff’s work is monumental in this area, besides Brene Brown. She recommends a crime writing festival in June called Shetland Noir.

She spoke about all-or-nothing thinking, also known as catastrophic thinking. When we say ‘Never’ or ‘Always’, these are signs of catastrophic thinking.
