What is this
But a crimson hue?
A shade of red
Amidst the brown
On your pale skin
A monumental din
Oh! To keep things within
But you erupt
Like a volcano
Time and time again
A molten lava
Flows through your veins
Cools on the surface
Of your face
A strange shade or hue
That’s unlike you
As you make sense
Of what it’s about
Will anger erupt again?
You wonder out loud.

Thank you, ma’am!
I used to have a lot.of anger issues but channeled it with Vipassana
Hi Ambica,
I read about your experiences in the ‘Brave Inked Emotions’ anthology yesterday. It gave me food for thought.
Anger and its uninvited after-effects like it’s hangover and guilt are painful. Suppressing it is even more dangerous. Hope we learn to get over it. How wonderfully you compared molten lava with the angry face.

Of your face ?
Thank you for reading the poem and sharing your perspective and insights, @Pandian Ramaiah.
The imagery of molten lava in your veins was so powerful. Red and brown and lava – interesting analogies for anger.
Thanks for your feedback, Suchita!
