On Books, Writing, Editing, and More

It’s world music day today. As a musicophile, I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I said the quality of my life depends on music.

I listen to almost every kind of music – English pop, rock, heavy metal( rarely), alternative rock, Hindi film songs, Tamil dabbanguthu, and even songs in languages I do not understand like Spanish.

Sometimes, when the world has seemed against me, it’s always been music that has got me cheerful and happy again.

Music transcends barriers like time and space. Music connects human beings and animals, too. Most sentient beings love and respond to music.

I used to edit my documents while having my iPod plugged into my ears when I worked with corporates. These days, I write and edit in silence.

How has music changed your life?

  1. I often use music to help calm me down in times of stress. Having something other than unbearable silence or buzzing thoughts to keep me occupied is honestly a lifesaver.
