Five friends and a cat tackle the world

Published by Scholastic

Author – Lalitha Ramananthan

Thanks to the author for the review copy.

This book takes you to an idyllic village dwelling. Maybe not Gaul, but something like Malgudi for sure.

Kanmani lives with her grandparents in this village. Her parents live elsewhere. Kanmani is the one who gets full marks in her surprise tests.

There are two boys and another girl. The other girl feels redundant in this little group.

One of the boys is disabled, and the others try to get him involved in wheelchair sports. But sadly, the boy’s own father brings it to an end.

Soon enough, a little cat joins in on their adventures, and there is plenty for the adventurous four to keep themselves deliciously engaged.
