15th August is India’s Independence Day. The first thought that strikes me as I write this is Salman Rushdie’s Booker of Bookers – Midnight’s Children. I’ve only watched the movie based on the book ( in 2014).
I found the book slightly disturbing, especially the opening scenes. Have you read the book? What were your thoughts?
Anyway, in childhood, we always hoisted/unfurled the flag on special days such as Independence Day and Republic Day. Which brings me to the point – I don’t know how to do either. Do you?
Now, the scene from the Hindi series Panchayat comes before me, when Neena Gupta goes to unfurl the flag.
It’s strange how I took part in countless March Pasts, band practice, etc, but I still haven’t unfurled the flag. Have you?

Thank you. You, too!
I haven’t read the book, nor have I unfurled the flag. I like your crisp and sweet post.
