Let me start with that skirt I wore on JJ TV for a beauty contest. My mom kept it all these years and she converted it into a cushion cover.

Handicraft Magic (Crocheting)
Aishwariya Laxmi
India
My mom’s hands weave their magic
As she spins a colorful web
From acrylic, the magic thread
Weaving intricate patterns
They appeal to you
Yes, they do.
Her deft fingers leave a trail
Of soft thread
Her creative hands
Move rhythmically
As she secures knots and chains
With the crochet hook
Ponchos, tea coasters, bags,
Caps and cushion covers
Materialize from her
Nimble fingers
She invites you to her magic circle
To craft a primavera flower
Christmas owls
Lace edging for a dupatta
Or Autumn leaves at fall
Her fingers and the needle move in tandem
To create a winter wonderland of snowflakes
Or a mandala in all its grace
dupatta
