‘The Gurugram School Murder’ by Leena Dhankar is an important read for parents, school authorities, members of the general public, and investigative journalists.
It reveals a horrific crime that took place in a school – the brutal murder of a seven-year-old boy. As you read through the chapters, the chilling nature of the crime and the reasons given by the alleged murderer shock and stun you, and you are almost dizzy with disbelief.
The attempts to cover up the crime, the loopholes in the investigation, terrible after-effects on the victim’s family, and the other people involved in this crime leave your head reeling.
The book highlights the special attention that students deserve in schools, the duty of good parenting and counseling, and the need to be ever-watchful of things happening in society.
I thank Juggernaut Books for a review copy.
