Takeaways from Resilient Writers’ Group Today

Today, in a few minutes, I learned these things:

One can only suggest new ways of thinking: New Tools and Techniques. The onus of taking action lies on the listener.

These phrases caught my attention: The internet is the Wild West, and those who took a chance on this workshop are brave. ( paraphrased by me)

She talked of personal agency—the ability to make intentional choices. Writers must realize they are finishers: those who learn and grow. She spoke about making time, being able to act, and showing up. She pointed out that there is a PDF document about 30 new ways to write in the bonus section.

How single moms make things work is by making the time to do things:

Write for 45 minutes while doing the laundry. If your housemates are not letting you write, go to the grocery store to pick up stuff. If asked why you took this long, say, “Well, there was a long line at the grocery store’.

How do you have a conversation with an interrupter in your family?

You can put a sign ( post-it note) saying DND on your door. I have more to say, but I need to go now.
