People keep saying “Know your audience.”
What does it mean?
Let’s say you enter a WhatsApp group and you do not know anybody there. What do you then, do?
You lie low and zip your lip.
Yes, that’s what you do.
Why?
These people are not your friends, that’s why. They do not know you as your friends do. They do not know what hurts you, what makes you happy, anything about your past experiences, background, etc.
It is going to result in a lot of flared tempers, crying, hurt, and disagreements, not to mention religious and political differences. Over time, when you feel a little safe, then you can “read the room.”
