About Me

I’m a writer, blogger, editor, and poet based in suburban Chennai, India.

I was that girl who hid a Nancy Drew under her desk at school and read it right under her teacher’s nose! I’m the girl who bunked her mid-term exams in primary school faking illness to sit at home and read ‘ The adventures of the wishing chair.’ I was the brat, the last bencher who corrected people’s pronunciation. ( Sorry folks, that was rude and I’ve changed since then!) In short, I was the girl who ate books.

So, I’ve been writing since childhood. I took part in several school competitions thanks to my English teachers who encouraged me. My first published article was in my school magazine, followed by one in the college magazine. My first published newspaper feature was in a national newspaper in 1999. Between 1999 and 2003, over 250 of my articles (many of them advertorials) were published by supplements of national newspapers as well as magazines and websites. I also conducted interviews, but these days, I prefer doing e-mail interviews.

Between 2003 and 2016, I worked in full-time roles in various capacities. I was a copywriter for greeting cards, copywriter of marketing collateral in an IT major, copy-editor in the e-learning divisions of IT majors, and an associate creative director with a leading ad agency. Since 2017, I’ve been a consultant editor. I edit press releases, case studies, newsletters, infographics, byline articles, blogs and other marketing collateral.

Since 2020, my flash fiction and poetry have been published in 25 anthologies.
